ZARA STUDIO FW23

Feelings fashioned through fabric. Mood moulded by materials. To enable multiple modern ways of being, the diverse new Zara Studio collections – for Women, Men, Kids – are collectively designed as a wearable lens for living. Three distinct collections linked by a philosophy of quality, Zara Studio is created by the Zara design team in consultation with the renowned creative director and stylist, Karl Templer. Meticulously conceived and crafted, this is the premium expression of Zara’s entire creative universe. For Fall Winter 2023, Zara Studio evolves afresh.

WOMAN

A sophisticated duality between power and projection lies at the core of this season’s Zara Studio womenswear collection. Sometimes raw-edged, sometimes precisely finished, the silhouette is strong, evocative/inspiring and self-determined. Monochrome contrasts in detail and pleating on trench coats, skirts and dresses reflect the ebb and flow between display and discretion at play. On a footwear strengthened by golden bronze hardware on the heel, dresses are fitted to drape softly against the body. Classical references to classic evening tailoring are modernised by fit and fluidity. Faux feather and fur finishes on footwear, skirts and jackets intensify texture and depth. Visually arresting and sophisticatedly assertive, the collection is designed to empower the wearer’s performance as the protagonist – both subject and object – in a story only she can tell. This duality is reflected in the campaign shot by Steven Meisel and accompanying film directed by Fabien Baron, which both amplify the powerfully progressive synergies at the heart of this collection.

MAN

Direct, refined, modern and strong – the Zara Studio Fall Winter 2023 Menswear collection wearably exemplifies a poetic soul entwined within a hyper contemporary sensibility. Tailoring is reformed from its heritage roots into a new and radically free expression of individuality. Modern fabrics and craft technique combine to shape a strong yet free-flowing silhouette in suiting and contrast detailed outerwear. Narrow straight leg trouser shapes are the podium for botanical reliefs and angular modernist pattern. Texture in knitwear is deep, thoughtful and tactile. Accents of deep burgundy red interject across an overwhelmingly monochrome palette. Piping emphasises shoulder shape, while integrated belting softens the waistline. Rounded-toe, high shine boots create a formidable footwear foundation. Anachronistic boundaries between evening wear and day, formal and casual, and conventional and creative are all eroded in a collection designed to enable a three-dimensional personality/style. Never a facade but always a feeling, Zara Studio is for men who contain multitudes

KIDS FW23

Zara Studio’s creative team and Karl Templer present a nostalgic playground of enchantingly practical pieces for girls and boys. Analogue detailing – handworked embroidery, topstitching and finishing – garnishes an autumnal suite of garments that connects the past with the future through worn and wearer. Roomy volumes plus pragmatic details allow for fuss-free exploration and endeavour for humans in the first phase of life’s adventure.
