Fashion, experiences and food gifts for Father’s Day
Need some inspiration? Read Glasgow Fort’s gift guide
It’s Father’s Day on Sunday 18th June. To mark the day, we’ve put together some of the most inspired ideas for gifts, food, drink and experiences at Glasgow Fort.
From the best places for lunch and brunch to days out at Vue cinema, men’s grooming, spring/summer 2023 fashion at Zara, Next and Marks & Spencer and original ideas for presents, here’s your go-to guide to making this Father’s Day one to remember.
Father’s Day fashion buys
Some of the best buys this year are classic pieces (cardigan, tapered trousers) mixed in with bright blast of tropical colours, long shorts for summer and loafers alongside pristine old-school sneakers. With the wedding calendar back in full swing this year, he might also be in need of a new suit (textures and tonal shades are leading the way this season).
For sharp tailoring, head to Next and Marks & Spencer – they’ll also be able to do alterations for the perfect fit – and they’ve also got wardrobe essentials such as neat polo shirts, lightweight summer trousers and sliders. For seasonal pieces head to Zara, H&M, New Look and River Island.

If you’re looking for brogues and sneakers, Clarks, Office, schuh, Foot Locker, Footasylum and JD Sports have every brand under the sun including adidas, Veja and Franklin & Marshall while H Samuel has beautiful watches for every look.
Lunch, brunch and dinner ideas
Fancy a day out? Or a night off? Whether you’re making it a family occasion or are parents escaping for the day, Glasgow Fort has a huge array of cafes, fast food and restaurants for every occasion.

For a laidback lunch, Five Guys’ burgers, Scottish fish and chips from Blue Lagoon and Nando’s Peri Peri chicken never fail to hit the spot. Grab bao buns and noodles from wagamama or head to Frankie & Benny’s for BBQ, burgers and hot wings. Monterey Jack’s give a North American diner-style twist on beef, chicken and vegan burgers, loaded fries, pizzas and cold beer with an amazing kids’ menu.
For evening, we recommend TGI Fridays for cocktails, craft beers and crowd-pleasing menus of two courses for £15 and plates of ribs, grills, fajitas and salads. All-day and all evening, Stack & Still serve up savoury stacked pancakes of tikka and falafel or sweet toffee apple and banana with cocktails of salted caramel espresso martini and Bloody Maple.
