Good causes

Raising money for worthy community causes is a huge driver for our team who are always inventing ever-more demanding activities to inspire sponsorship.

Recently, an intrepid group from our team scaled Ben Lomond to raise vital funds for Alzheimer Scotland and exceeded their target by more than £1000.

Almost 100 people who work at the shopping and leisure destination raised more than £4000 through donations which was bolstered by a contribution from British Land, the owner of Glasgow Fort.

Ben Lomond, a munro which offers views of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, took the fundraisers more than five hours to complete.

Phil Goodman, Centre Manager at Glasgow Fort, said:

“It was a fantastic day. This was the first time many of the team had ever done anything like this so it was certainly a challenge but one which we all enjoyed immensely, especially knowing our efforts were raising so much money for such a worthwhile cause.”

Alzheimer Scotland is Glasgow Fort’s charity of the year. More than 30 staff underwent Dementia Friends training in order to understand the condition more fully and be able to support customers with the condition and their families.
